  4. Introduction:  Flash Cards is a fun, easy way for an elementary school
  5.     student or pre-schooler to learn the basic mathematical skills.
  6.     The big difference between this program and the flash cards
  7.     bought at your local store is that the student can practice math
  8.     without your help.
  9.

  14.         . optional timed testing
  15.         . optional printed score sheet

  18. Requirements:  You must have an IBM-PC or compatible capable of running
  19.     Microsoft Windows 3.x.  Since Flash Cards was written in Visual
  20.     Basic Version 2, the Visual Basic runtime module, VBRUN200.DLL,
  21.     is also required.  Since this file is rather large (over 300K), it
  22.     is not included in this package but is available for download from
  23.     most BBSs.  You can also get it directly from the author on a
  24.     diskette for a $2.00 shipping and handling charge.  Note that the
  25.     registered version comes with the Visual Basic runtime module.

  32. Installation procedures:
  33.  
  34.     1. Create a new directory and name it c:\FLSHCARD (or something
  35.        else appropriate).  This can be done either at the DOS prompt
  36.        or thru the Windows File Manager (see the appropriate user's
  37.        manual for specific instructions of the commands).
  38.     2. Copy the files to that directory.  FLSHCARD.EXE and FLSHCARD.HLP
  39.        are required, README.TXT and REGISTER.TXT are optional.  This
  40.        can be done either at the DOS prompt or thru the Windows File
  41.        Manager (see the appropriate user's manual for specific
  42.        instructions of the commands).
  43.     3. From the Program Manager of Windows, select the FILE, NEW menu
  44.        options.
  45.     4. Select Program Group and click the OK button.
  46.     5. For Description, enter Flash Cards and click the OK button.
  47.     6. From the Program Manager of Windows, select the FILE, NEW menu
  48.        options.
  49.     7. Select Program Item and click the OK button.
  50.     8. For Description, enter Flash Cards.
  51.     9. For Command Line, enter the name of the directory that you
  52.        created in step 1 followed by \FLSHCARD.EXE and click the OK
  53.        button (e.g. c:\FLSHCARD\FLSHCARD.EXE)
  54.     10. Ensure that you have a copy of VBRUN200.DLL in your Windows
  55.         path (Microsoft advises putting it in your System subdirectory
  56.         of the Windows directory)

  58. Registration Benefits:  Flash Cards is shareware, not freeware.  To make
  59.     it easy to register, I have included a registration form (file
  60.     name is REGISTER.TXT) that can be edited with any ASCII text
  61.     editor, such as Windows Notepad.  Registered users will receive
  62.     the following benefits:

  64.         . the latest version of Flash Cards with all shareware
  65.           notices removed (VBRUN200.DLL included)
  66.         . notification of future upgrades available at reduced
  67.           rates to registered users
  68.         . free technical support

  81.     If you have a feature that you would like to see in Flash Cards,
  82.     please let me know.  At the time of release, there are no known
  83.     bugs in the program.  However, just because I haven't found them
  84.     doesn't mean that there aren't any.  If you find any bugs, I 
  85.     would very much appreciate it if you let me know about them.

  87. Distribution:  Flash Cards may be used by anyone FREE of charge, for an
  88.     initial 30 day evaluation. Additionally, it may be distributed
  89.     by Shareware companies for a reasonable fee not to exceed $8 per
  90.     diskette.  The requirement is that all of the files in the
  91.     original package be included, and not altered.  If you continue
  92.     to use this program after an initial 30 day evaluation period,
  93.     then you are required to send a $15 payment to:
